DESCRIPTION: The image depicts St. Martin's Church, which has stood in the village of Herne since the early 14th century. It is known for its impressive North West tower and its fine Perpendicular-style windows. Thomas Cranmer, the first Protestant Archbishop of Canterbury, served as the vicar here in the 1530s.
